Mitch Bramstaedt is a leading health benefits consultant. He has been invited to speak on health benefit design and prescription drug programs at many national, regional and local conferences, and has been quoted as an expert on prescription drug programs in Crain's Chicago Business, Employee Benefits Review, and Business Insurance.
Mitch started his career as an underwriter with a national insurance company. He was the director of underwriting for a Chicago-area HMO before joining Segal in 1992 as a health consultant. Mitch has been a member of Segal's National Rx Consulting group, where he was responsible for coordinating and keeping the company's prescription drug consulting efforts current. His innovative Prescription Drug Program Analysis reports have helped many Segal clients to comprehensively audit their prescription benefit managers, and have laid the groundwork for reducing their drug spend.
Mitch was a member of and contributor to URAC's Consumer-Directed Advisory Committee, which helped to develop accreditation standards for Consumer-Directed Health Plans.
Mitch has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.
